Cold War Witness: The Enduring Words and Relevance of Whittaker Chambers

Revisiting a dramatic moment of the Cold War from the fascinating perspective of one of American’s most important ex-communists: Whittaker Chambers. Dr. Andrew Mitchell will discuss Chambers, the former Soviet spy who took down Alger Hiss, an active Soviet spy inside the State Department, in one of the most sensational trials of the 20th century. Dr. Mitchell will give special attention to Chambers’ classic memoir, Witness, and his stirring “A Letter to My Children.”
